The snow has not stopped this winter! With all of the new snow in Lake Tahoe we’ll be skiing for a while. Over here at Tahoe Mountain Sports, we’re getting excited for spring skiing and are ready for some fun corn harvesting* in the Tahoe Basin, up north around Shasta and Lassen, and south of us in the Eastern Sierra. We have our eyes on those steeper lines that have had months to settle by the time spring rolls around.
Whether you’re going out for a backcountry ski tour, day at the resort, snowshoe hike, nordic ski or trail run, we’re here to help you have a great experience! Our knowledgeable staff will help get you dialed so you can enjoy the beauty around you without worrying about gear. Stop by soon for the best selection of mountain sports equipment… spring is coming and we’ve got new arrivals coming in every day!
*Corn skiing: when daytime high temps and overnight lows combine and the melt-freeze cycle creates small, kernel-like snow granules.

With sunshine and warm weather in the forecast, it’s important to remember sun protection when you hit the slopes. Always wear a hat and don’t forget sunscreen! The days are getting longer, the sun is high in the sky, and there’s a ton of snow on the ground reflecting those UV rays back at you. If you’re tempted to forgo sunscreen, just remember, goggle tans are rarely cool.
Are you planning your escape to warmer temperatures and the beach? We’ve got swimsuits, flips flops and board shorts ready to go in your travel bag!
