Do you have gently used or extra tent poles lying around? If so, bring them to Tahoe Mountain Sports and together we can help Gear to Grow get people outdoors!
Gear to Grow is a Salt Lake City-based nonprofit that brokers donated gear from outdoor retailers and manufacturers to other nonprofits that promote outdoor recreation. They recently received a generous donation of tent shells, but unfortunately the shells did not come with poles. In order to support more of Gear to Grow’s beneficiary groups and help outfit them with complete tent sets, we are an official pole-drive collection site for Gear to Grow’s Calling All Poles campaign.
All tent pole sets 13’6″ long or between 11.5 and 12 feet can be donated. If you want to participate, but don’t have any poles to contribute, there’s another way to help! Visit the Gear to Grow website to make an online donation of $10 that will be used to purchase new pole sets.
We’ll be accepting donations through the end of November so gather your gear now and help make a difference!
I’m a 6-year Tahoe resident. Yep, I live the life, with a lake view from my desk, lunch breaks on the beach with my dog, and morning powder runs when the snow’s good. I ski, snowboard, skate ski, and cross-country ski in winter, and hike, mountain bike, backpack, and lay around on Tahoe’s beaches in summer.
