Truckee River Regional Park Disc Golf
Along the banks of the river, the Truckee Disc Golf Course is a popular spot close to downtown.
Located on the banks of the Truckee River just outside historic downtown Truckee, this course features 18 holes with concrete tee boxes and metal baskets. The course is mostly wooded, but has much less underbrush and more open tree spacing than many of the other courses in the area. A few holes are adjacent to the banks of the Truckee River, but in a fairly industrial area. Its a very nice course, but not one of the more scenic in the area. It is also one of the more heavily used courses, so you are unlikely to have this one to yourself. The park has other offerings, including a small skate park, rodeo grounds, fishing, mountain biking and an amphitheater with free music on Wednesday nights during summer. The front nine is not the easiest to navigate, especially between holes 7 and 8.
To get to the Truckee disc golf course, take Highway 267 south from Interstate 80. Turn right on Brockway Road at the first light, and look for the park on your right (across from 7-11). The course starts along the road, then winds down by the river.
