Comments: Product Review - Awesome, easy to use, great quality, lots of settings. Better than the ContourHD without GPS mostly because the unit itself is improved and easier to use. I have used this little guy a ton and I will continue to use it for years to come. I did have problems getting my movies into anything but their software, but I finally found out how and this is straight from the folks at Contour's mouth.
Here you go. How to get your ContourGPS movie into Imovie and keep the GPS data:
There is a way to get the ContourGPS videos into iMovie, unfortunately doing so will strip any GPS information from your video. I might first recommend saving your GPS information. To do so, simply play one of your ContourGPS videos in StoryTeller and then click on Tools and then Export Movie GPS. This will allow you to save the GPS information into a file that some third party programs can use to reinsert the GPS data into the video.
Once you've done this, to get your video into iMovie, first open it in QuickTime. With the video open, click on File and then Save As. A window should then pop up. If you then change the format to Computer, the video will save in a format that can be opened in iMovie. I hope this information is helpful.
