This hat appears to be a bit goofy but is very effective. I work as a soil scientist in the valley bottom and mountain tops of the Nevada deserts. The wide brim keeps the sun off my nose and face unlike any other wide brimmed hat I own. The mesh head adjustment allows the wind to blow through your hair keeping you cool or at least drying the sweat from your brow. Because of the wide brim design the hat easily catches the wind and can be quickly torn from your head so, the chin strap is a must to keep the hat securely on. Wearing the hat takes a bit getting used to but after the first long hot day with no sun burn on my nose I have been wearing it ever since.

This is the best hat for keeping the sun off your face and shoulders. Great for river rafting, festivals and working in the garden. Stays on well and keeps me feeling cool even when it's really hot outside.

My girlfriend has been using her Chillba Asian-style hat for gardening and weed-pulling quite a lot lately and she seems to enjoy it. We live at 8000 feet and she's fair skinned with her Irish heritage, so she plays it smart with the sun. Today, July 4th, 2010, a hailstorm came upon us fast, shortly after transplanting tomatoes. She headed out in a rain jacket and her Kavu hat. I joined her shortly in a hard hat. We managed to protect our plants from damage and she exclaimed the hat was Great in the hail! The foam that allows it to float protected against impacts from the marble-sized hail. It was a blessing in a pinch, but hail in the high country is not unusual in the Summertime. The wide brim give good coverage from sun rays and hailstones!

Awesome. Perfect for anything outdoors and waterproof, lightweight material make it ideal. We used ours for a recent raft trip, but was taken to a music festival this weekend as well - where it received numerous compliments! :)

I'm an ultimate frisbee player and was looking for a way to keep the sun off my face and neck when I'm not playing on the field. I've only had it for a couple weeks, but I can already tell that it's worth every penny. I can feel the difference in my body temperature and it helps me stay in the game longer. People think it looks awesome and I'm continually having to take it away from team mates! It also works wonders in the rain! Love this hat.

I was very excited to at long last get my Kavu Chilba hat. Two years ago, while trekking in The Grand Canyon I first saw this hat on one of our American guides. This year I will be going to trek in the Costa Rica Jungle, and thought this was just what I needed. So having contacted the guide in The States, I then set about tracking this hat down. No one in England stocks this hat, but Tahoe Mountain Sports came to the rescue. Thanks guys. Really looking forward to my trek in November. I am sure this is hat will be prefect.

As long as you return your purchase to us within 30 days of the date shipped and the item(s) is in new condition with tags and any packaging intact, then we will fully refund your purchase price minus the shipping charge. Don’t worry about colors or sizing, order what you need and feel free to send us back what you don’t want, no questions asked. Any exchanges that were eligible for free shipping originally will be shipped back to you free of charge.
